With the summer weather here, the Roger Williams Zoo is alive with all kinds of family fun! Check out these events in July and beyond!

July Events at the Roger Williams Zoo

Planting Seeds Musical Entertainment in Marco Polo Plaza
Date: Wednesday, July 18
Time: 10:30 am and 1:30 pm
Cost: Included in price of admission; members free

Join Maria Sangiolo as she sings her songs about building a better world, awareness of the earth, sustainability and agriculture from her award winning CD Planting Seeds.

Sing Along With Mother Nature in Marco Polo Plaza
Date: July 24
Time: Performances between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm
Cost: Included in price of admission; members free

Lindsay Adler aka Mother Nature brings her singing puppets and global instruments to Roger Williams Park Zoo to encourage awareness of the natural world.

Harbor Seal Encounters
Enjoy a special behind-the-scenes tour of the harbor seal exhibit, and feed the stars of the show, seals Action and Bubba!

Through – September 2: Thursday/Saturday/Sunday
September 8 – 30: Saturdays & Sundays

There are no feedings on August 25. Guests must be age 5 or older to participate, and a paying adult must accompany children ages 5-11. The seal feeding area is not wheelchair accessible. Register now!

Masai Giraffe Feedings
Price: $5 per participant; $4 for current RWP Zoo members.
Tickets are available at the site of the giraffe feeding in the Fabric of Africa on a first-come, first-served basis, no advanced registration needed. A limited number of feedings are available during each session. Groups may split the food and take turns feeding the animals. Children must be age 3 or older to participate, and be accompanied by an adult. No feedings on Saturday, August 25.

Through September 3: Daily at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm
September 4-30: Weekends only 11:30 am and 2:30 pm

Armadillo Encounters on the Marco Polo Trail

Get up-close with the Zoo’s adorable nine-banded armadillos! Watch the armadillos walk around as you learn and explore these fascinating creatures. You can even touch their natural armor, and take photos. Encounters are weather dependent and times may vary.

EXPLORE AND SOAR – adjacent to Hasbro’s Our Big Backyard

Soaring Eagle Zip Ride
Times: Daily (weather permitting)
Price: $12 per rider, $10 for current Roger Williams Park Zoo members.

Witness breathtaking views 115 feet above the Zoo in comfortable side-by-side seats. The ride is sensational. Must buy admission tickets to the Zoo to buy tickets for the Soaring Eagle. Tickets are available at the admissions gate or at the entrance of the ride. Last ticket sold at 4:15 pm, last ride is at 4:30 pm. There is no advanced registration.

Camel Rides
Time: Daily, weather permitting
Price: $6; $5 for current Roger Williams Park Zoo members.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Zoo and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Last ticket sold at 4:30 pm. There is no advanced registration.

Carousel Village

Ride the Carousel at Roger Williams Park Carousel Village

  • Weekdays: noon – 6:00 pm
  • Weekends: 11:00 am – 6:00 pm

Train Rides same hours as Carousel (weather permitting)
Price: $3 per rider
All aboard the Carousel Express!  Hop on-board this fun family-friendly premium train all summer long. Designed for all ages. Please note: The Carousel Express is wheelchair accessible. We do not offer automated wheelchairs or carts.

Pony Rides
Open daily through Labor Day
Price: $5 per ride

Saddle up and enjoy pony rides at Carousel Village. Please note: This activity is only available for children ages 3 -12.

Food Truck Friday
Open
Fridays, May 4 – September 28
Time: 5:00 – 8:30 pm
Come experience the array of foods and delicious sweets from a variety of vendors at this magnificent event. The Carousel is open for rides, as are other Carousel Village activities – weather permitting.
